About Survivors' Network
The effects of sexual abuse in childhood can be profound and long lasting. Survivors' Network is a charity that was set up by female survivors for female survivors of sexual abuse in childhood. Our services provide support, listening, information, connections and space for women to use.
Survivors' Network was set up in 1990, and since then we have been contacted by thousands of women around the UK.
What are our aims?
•To provide confidential services, relevant and accessible to women who have been sexually abused in childhood.
•To offer a high quality service with a strong emphasis on empowerment and self help.
•To work within an equal opportunity framework.
•To contribute to the prevention of current and future abuse to children.
•To raise the awareness of individuals, professionals and the wider community to issues surrounding sexual abuse.
Management Committee
Survivors' Network is governed by a Management Committee consisting of the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and six other posts, three of which are reserved for representatives from the HelpLine, DropIn and newsletter. The Management Committee is the primary communication channel between all the various parts of the organisation. It has responsibility to the membership of Survivors' Network and is the overall manager of the paid and voluntary staff.
The Management Committee has amongst its duties; to monitor standards, implement grievance procedure, provide training and supervision and produce policy documents and guidelines.

Publications Officer
All places have full voting rights. The Chair has the casting vote in all matters where there is no overall majority.
