space2 young people's services
space2 is a range of services for young women (14 to 25 years old) who have experienced any form of sexual abuse or violence. We understand that it can be especially difficult for young women to talk about their experiences or access support. space2 allows you to be yourself and work through what might be going on for you with specially trained and caring professionals who understand how things might be for you.
***Have
your say – we would like to launch a new service for young women who have
experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives. We would love to hear
your ideas so please email dropin@survivorsnetwork.org.uk with your comments.
Services offered by space2:
Advocacy
If you have experienced recent sexual assault and want to talk through the options open to you then please get in touch with our space2 Advocate. She will be able to explain any health implications and choices that you might want to make, she can give you information about the legal system and how things might work if you decide to report an incident to the police. She will also be able to tell you about the support open to you and how you might access specialist counselling or therapeutic group work for young women. She will be flexible and respect your right to choice in whatever your circumstances. To find out more about advocacy, call us on 01273 203380 or email us at ypadvocate@survivorsnetwork.org.uk
E-mail Support
The e-mail support service is a place where you can off load any feelings or start to share them or just make first contact with the organisation. We know that it can be difficult to start about the impact of abuse and some people find it easiest to start with an e-mail to help@survivorsnetwork.org.uk
Helpline Support
Our helpline is open from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday evenings and on Friday nights from 7pm to 9pm. If you want to talk to someone about what’s going on and how you’re feeling or get some information about the organisation and our services then please feel free to call us on 01273 720110 or text 07797 8040202
Counselling 14-18 year olds only
Counselling is your chance to discuss any difficulties you are experiencing. You will be heard and respected and you can talk freely in a way that is not often possible with friends or family. Counselling can be accessed at our base in Brighton or at various outreach centres throughout Brighton and Hove. The Young Person's Counselling service is free. To find out more call or text our Young Person's Counsellor on 07402 288196 or email ypcounselling@survivorsnetwork.org.uk
