Training - Break the Silence
Professional training
Survivors’ Network works to end all forms of violence against women. Part of this work is to train and education professionals and the wider community about the prevalence of sexual violence and its long term effects on survivors.
We offer training on the following subjects:
Childhood sexual abuse
This course can be delivered in a one day or half day workshop. It includes understanding the definition of childhood sexual abuse, the long term impact on survivors and how to recognise childhood sexual abuse.
Rape and Sexual assault
This course can be delivered in a one day or half day workshop. It includes understanding the legal definition of rape and assault by penetration (SOA 2003), the long and short term impacts of rape on survivors and how to successfully work with women who have experienced rape or sexual assault.
Please note that we are not legal advisors and so our training is focused on the impact of sexual violence and ways to work with survivors. If you would like to arrange for one of our trainers or speakers to work with you then please contact the office for further details and costs.
