Get involved
Break the Silence
Survivors’ Network is a community organisation and as such relies on members of the community to get involved and support us. One of the most fundamental and important ways that you can support our work is to talk about it. Discuss Survivors’ Network in your coffee mornings, religious meetings, team meetings and community events. You could invite us to deliver a talk or a workshop. You could ask the office for a recommendation for a book for your book group and follow it up with an awareness raising talk from a member of the Survivors’ Network team. Abuse thrives on secrecy, the more that we talk about sexual violence and abuse the harder it becomes to keep abuse and violence hidden.
Work with us:
Service volunteers
Survivors’ Network services are staffed in the majority by a variety of women of all ages, races, religions and sexualities. We need empathic, strong, confident women to work with us to support women who use our services. We provide intensive training and monthly clinical supervision for all volunteers and a great opportunity to become part of our small team. If you would like to get involved please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at dropin@survivorsnetwork.org.uk or visit the service volunteer section on our vacancies page and download an application pack
Trustees
Survivors’ Network is managed by a team of women who bring a variety of experience and understanding to our organisation. They are responsible for the employment and support of our staff and for the financial and political health of the organisation. If you feel that you have experience and knowledge to offer the organisation in this capacity then please contact Alex Weaver, Acting Chair of trustees, at trustees@survivorsnetwork.org.uk or download an application pack.
Fundraise
Sometimes we don’t have the time or the energy to volunteer or support services that mean a great deal to us. An essential way that you can support the work that we do here is to make a donation. Donations from individuals allow us to maintain our independence and provide financial security. If you would like to make a regular donation, please download and complete this Donation Form and then post it to the address given on the form. If you would prefer to make a one-off donation, please follow this link www.everyclick.org.uk/survivorsnetwork.
Donations can also be made using our new text to donate service. Simply text the code SNBN08 plus the amount that you would like to donate to 70070. The amount will automatically be deducted from your pay as you go credit or will be added to your next phone bill. Standard text rates apply.
You can also make a difference by using the Everyclick web search facility. This allows you to raise funds for free whenever you search the web. Simply nominate Survivors’ Network as your charity of choice.
We are also always on the lookout for people who would like to undertake sponsored events or hold fundraising nights etc to raise vital awareness and some appreciated funds. If you have an idea you’d like to talk through then please speak to our administrator about the support we can offer you on 01273 203380.
